- Council recommended that the Union Steam Ship Company be granted a subsidy of $250.00 per month to run the S.S. Cutch “or some other good boat” on the Vancouver-Nanaimo route, at least six days per week, in order to build up trade and develop commerce between the two cities.
- A motion was moved and carried that since the Park Commissioners had “no amount placed in the estimates” for buying or maintaining animals or birds in Stanley Park or elsewhere, no payments would be made for related expenses.
- A deputation appeared before Council on behalf of the graduates of British Universities resident in Vancouver, to stress the necessity of establishing a university on the mainland and gaining the co-operation of New Westminster. Council appointed the Reverend E.D. McLaren to represent the City of Vancouver “on the Corporation of the University of British Columbia”.
