Urban Experience Initiative

High Density living is good for the environment and the economy. But just because the actual density of your neighborhood is high it doesn’t mean that the experienced density need be high. This Initiative hosts gatherings of people in high density neighborhoods to hear about and discuss opportunities to improve the quality of life in the downtown.
Presentations have been hosted dealing with noise mitigation at night, maintenance of the public realm, techniques for the development of social capital, new ideas for social change, etc. Environmental concerns, economic exigencies and the fostering of a more dynamic social culture should lead to even higher densities in the urban core. Ensuring that the quality of life of those living in the urban core is the highest possible is critical to reversing the suburbanization that has taken place over the last 40 years.
